Explore and Sketch Britannia Shipyards

Saturday February 13-Sunday February 21 or until stocks run out

Uncover Richmond’s history safely exploring heritage buildings representing the people who lived and worked at Britannia Shipyards 100 years ago. Bring a pencil, eraser and a picnic blanket and pick up a mini sketchbook from staff courtesy of the Bateman Foundation. Find a quiet area among the acres of parkland and sketch at leisure allowing art and nature be a natural way to unwind. Bad weather? Collect a sketchbook to use on sunny days and file “sketching at Britannia” under a future must-do list.

We are open

Britannia Shipyards is now open to the public with limited hours, Thursday-Sunday 12-4pm.

Depending on the weather, high tides and upcoming maintenance, we may have one or two of the following buildings open: Britannia Shipyard, the Manager’s House, the Seine Net Loft, the Murakami House.

Covid-19 protocols are in place including physical distancing protocols, hand sanitizer and directional signage.
