When water levels are predicted to be higher than usual, temporary flood panels are installed which protect our site from localized flooding. 

This means that unfortunately there will be no access to the Shipyard or Seine Net Loft until January 2, 2020. We encourage visitors to explore the other buildings at Britannia Shipyards during this time!

Britannia Shipyards is open 12:00-5:00pm every day, with the exception of December 25, 26 and January 1 where we will be closed for the holidays.

Get ready for the holiday season with Winter in the Village!

Between November 21 and December 31 Steveston Village will become a destination for those looking to enjoy the holidays and participate in a number of winter activities.

Britannia Shipyards will be celebrating Winter in the Village with ongoing activities and special events.

Every day, join us in creating a special holiday memento by decorating a wooden ornament for your Christmas tree. Meanwhile, kids (12 and under) can try their hand at the Steveston History Hunters Scavenger Hunt. We invite everyone to come and see the Heritage Building Light Display in the evenings.

The Winter Concert will be held December 1, 1:00-2:30pm. Buy your ticket at the door or register in advance by calling the City of Richmond Registration Call Centre at 604-276-4300.

Get some holiday shopping done at the Heritage Christmas Craft Fair on December 7, 11:00-4:00pm.

On November 6, 2019 the City of Richmond is launching a new Parks, Recreation and Culture registration system!

Find, register and manage your program registrations with exciting new features:

• Log in easily with your e-mail address and password
• Search thousands of programs and events quickly with more search and filter options
• Manage your family's schedule with a personalized calendar view of registrations
• Add registered programs to your iOS, Google and Outlook calendars
• Use gift cards and Recreation Fee Subsidy Program allocations for online payment

Important dates to mark on your calendar:​

• ​November 6, 2019 - Our new system will launch. You will receive an e-mail with instructions to activate your new account to access online registration. 
• November 22, 2019 - Winter 2020 programs will be available for viewing online.  Browse through programs and try out the new search options to save time during registration. 
• December 3, 2019 - Online registration begins for Winter 2020 programs (8:00 p.m. for Aquatics and 10:00 p.m. for all other programs). Have your programs selected and log in early to register!
